Twinkies and Ding Dongs might live!
At least that’s the news story breaking now:
WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (AP) — Twinkies will live to see another day.
Hostess Brands Inc. and its second largest union agreed on Monday to go into mediation to try to resolve their differences after a bankruptcy court judge noted that the parties hadn’t gone through the critical step. That means the maker of the spongy cake with the mysterious cream filling won’t go out of business yet.
Maybe the union will be more realistic with their demands now that they’ve seen the abyss?
I’ll believe it when I see them on the shelves.

God knows I love Twinkies and Ho-Hos, but I’d rather see them die an honorable death than see the mediator or Hostess cave into any union demands.

If they cave to one union after all the others agreed to a deal, their doom is sealed. All the rest will come unglued.

In my experience the mediation team will be comprised of union fanatics from the government, its the bureaucracy’s way of protecting their union brothers.

As soon as I’m UP, they drag me back down.
