I’ll miss Jim DeMint in the Senate, but here’s hoping he’ll make some progress at the Heritage Foundation
Meanwhile, little Chuckie at Little Green Snotballs has his panties in a wad because DeMint might yet make a living.

Meet the Anti-#Julia: #Emily O’Neill [my emphasis below]:
The Obama campaign’s “Life of Julia” ad is a disturbing sign. It suggests that political strategists, pollsters, and campaign advisers must think that the people living off government are getting to the point where they can out-vote the people paying for government.
If that’s true, America is doomed to become another Greece – which would be an appropriate fate since, for all intents and purposes, Julia is the fictional twin of a real-life Greek womanwho thought it was government’s job to give her things.
The Obama #Julia campaign was yet another of his campaign fiascoes that were taken over by conservatives and not only ridiculed, but annihilated by the use of reason, as Emily does below.
Emily’s alternate anti-Julia becomes the antithesis of the dependent Obama model: she doesn’t need to vote for people like B. Hussein Obama to ensure the continuance of a lifestyle dependent on the whims of government largess and bureaucracy, she works for what she has, and votes for who she thinks best, not who will provide her the most aid.
No wonder Obama hates her.

From the US Marines Facebook page:
Last year, more than 30,000 young Americans became U.S. Marines. They did it through the efforts of their drill instructors. Watch what it takes to make a Marine.
Like their Facebook page. Don’t want these guys mad at ya.
Oh, and check out these teachers and counselors from Wisconsin who flew to California to experience Marine boot camp first hand:
CAMP PENDLETON, Calif. — When high school counselors tour colleges, they step into the shoes of a student. However, college isn’t the only option for graduates. Many are called to join the military. FOX6 News traveled with a group of educators as they stepped into the boots of Marines-in-training to get a glimpse of what boot camp is like.
While it takes years to become a teacher, it takes just 13 weeks to become a U.S. Marine. For three days, educators were able to experience first hand the extreme difference between the two sets of training.
Two teachers from Wilmot, one from Waterford, counselors from Racine and Cudahy, plus one Menomonee Falls principal went on the trip of a lifetime. They traveled into the field of Marine Corps boot camp. The mission was to experience first hand what it takes to earn the title ofU.S. Marine.
“The process essentially hasn’t changed in over 200 years, but there’s a lot of fallacies and misconceptions out there on how Marines are made, and what we do here on the dept. We need to educate the educators. They need to see what we’re really like. We’re not the stereotypical Marines that you might see in the movies,” Marine Sgt. Major Peter Siaw said.
Marines may be the country’s first line of defense, but teachers are on the front lines, helping the nation’s youth decide their future. “I’ve talked to every single student about what they’re looking for, and military is always an option,” Horlick High School counselor Kate Kulinski said. “It’s kind of hard to talk to them when you really don’t know exactly what it is they’re going to be doing,” Cudahy High School counselor Amy Oost said.

European nations have been on a quick march to socialism for many years. Openly socialist nations such as Greece are bankrupt and taking bailouts to stave off the inevitable crash that is to come. They spend the bailout money given them and demand still more.
Daniel Hannan is a member of the UK Conservative Party, and is well known to conservatives on this side of the pond for a speech he gave as a rebuttal to then Prime Minister Gordon Brown (excerpted below);
You cannot spend your way out of a recession or borrow your way out of debt. And when you repeat, in that wooden and perfunctory way, that our situation is better than others, that we are well placed to weather the storm, I have to tell you, you sound like a Brezhnev era apparatchik giving the party line.
You know and we know and you know that we know that it’s nonsense. Everyone knows that Britain is worse off than any other country as we go into these hard times.
The IMF has said so. The European Commission has said so. The markets say so, which is why the pound has lost a third of its value.
In a few months, the voters will have their chance to say so, too.
They can see what the markets have seen: that you are the devalued Prime Minister of a devalued Government.’
It’s no wonder conservatives in the US, after the video of the speech went viral on YouTube [watch it if you haven't seen it], became enamored of Daniel Hannan the politician – no – the statesman. Quite a few on the right these days are able to articulate what US conservatives believe, but still fewer posses any real power to effect real change. The ones who do posses that power seem weak-willed or to be actually collaborating with the same left which is today reshaping this country into a crumbling shell of its former self. This is why Mitt Romney remains at basically the same poll numbers today he started with at the beginning of the GOP Primaries. This is why conservatives pick up one candidate after another, inspect him or her, and toss them aside to inspect still another. We want not only to believe the politico will do what America needs him or her to do, but we want to hear from their own lips that they understand what trouble we’re in, that they can articulate conservative principles that we believe in.
Daniel Hannan is one who is able to articulate those principles, and though he’s from the United Kingdom, his views, especially in light of his beloved UK going down a failing path, are an apt warning to us in the United States as we struggle to keep arrogant leftist politicians from dragging us kicking and screaming down that same failing path.
From the CPAC website;
“Europe sees you in the rearview mirror,” European Parliament member Daniel Hannan in his address to CPAC today warning that America is headed down the same disastrous road as the European Union.However, Hannan said, “there is still time to turn aside.”
Hannan spoke of the unique and special nature of America’s constitutional order and the prosperity it has created, and that American principles are what makes America exceptional. If America was to adopt European style policies we would become less prosperous and less free.
Hannan said, “To see what makes the US constitution special just look at the others.”

Many people don’t like Mark Levin, don’t like his voice, passion, whatever; but this is a speech you need to listen to.
Levin opened by saying (essentially) “We are here to Occupy the White House and the Senate.”
He said “Progress means the ability for each and every one of us to be able to make our own decisions regarding our own lives.”
We’re headed down a bad road, people, and our failure will absolutely dwarf anything that will happen in Greece or anywhere in the European Union.
The Occupy garbage is just the start. Now it can be laughed at, mocked, and ridiculed, but given enough time and leniency by the Democrat-controlled cities where the rabble is camping out, it’ll become more violent (it already is), and more people will get hurt.
November 2012 is critical to our survival as a nation. Not only do we need to kick as many Democrats out as possible, we need to get control of the “moderate” GOP as well. How do they continue to compromise with unconstitutional ideas and schemes? How can there even be ”compromise” with that? Power is all they want, and it’s up to us to take it back, from both sides.
